Uptown Express urges you to attend Occupy Naples !
We will occupy the street with the sounds of the Fabulous 50's provided by The
Uptown Express!
We will not leave until the street is filled with people having a good time dancing
to the songs of the golden era of Rock & Roll!
We urge you to occupy the beautiful,historic 5th Avenue and relive the happy
days of your youth.
We want you to occupy 5th avenue's great restaurants,the unique gift shops,outside
bistros,coffee shops,the old fashioned ice cream parlor,and other businesses!
We want you to protest "dullness" by dancing the night away with Uptown Express!
Uptown Express vows not to leave until everyone feels 16 again!

Dear Uptown Express!!
Last October, 2010, my wife, Anne, and I were lucky enough to be in Naples the day
of the music festival on downtown 5TH Avenue at which you were performing. This was the first time we had ever been to
Naples.
We had a great day there and thoroughly enjoyed the music. The best part of the day was listening
to yourselves singing on a street corner. We loved the harmonies. We even bought one of your CDs and played it many
times while we were enjoying our holiday in Florida.
We enjoyed Naples so much that we are going to be there again on April 6th, 7th and 8th, 2011.
I have checked your website to see if you have any gigs on at the time and you don't at the moment. But I'll keep checking.
Anne and I are from Scotland and we just wanted you to know how much we enjoyed your music.

old and close friend of Ron's.Meeting through their mutual love of Rock & Roll,guitars,and old cars,they have stayed in
touch through Frank's days with the 5 Satins,Danny and the Juniors,right up to the present,performing with The Legends of
DooWop and Percy Sledge.I'm sure you will all recognize Frank from his role in the 1970's movie "Let The Good Times Roll"
featuring Bo Diddley,The 5 Satins,and many more stars of the Rock & Roll era.
Frank will be
bringing his SS 396 1966 Chevelle,so leave him a parking spot.

Just a quick note to let all my friends know that on Sunday,
February 21st at 3:00, I will be doing an interview with a Connecticut radio station DJ, George Ward. George does
a Doo-Wop radio program for WESUFM in Middletown, CT (Area covered: New Haven-Hartford Ct up to Springfield Mass). The show is called “The Doo-Wop
Corner”, and it is aired from 2:30pm to 5:00pm every Sunday. The Doo-Wop Corner can also be heard world wide
on the web at www.wesufm.org. George will be playing songs recorded by groups that I sang with (The Cordials, Occasionally 5) in the past. He will also
feature songs recorded by my present group “Uptown Express” on their recently released CD “Smooth Sounds”.

 Uptown Express has a new bassist !
Mike not only has a strong background in 50's doowop,he plays motown like he's
one of The Funk Brothers.He's even trying to talk us in to a little disco style doowop.
I guess that his Brooklyn roots adds some Saturday Night Fever to his
playing.
